The Brixham trawler Scaldis was lost somewhere between the 25th and 29th of January 1974. It was a year later when a Weymouth boat snagged an underwater obstruction and divers were sent down to investigate that the Scaldis was located. Subsequent dives revealed the Scaldis trawl wires were snagged in the remains of a German aircraft, it is presumed that the trawler slewed around and was pulled over. In the poor weather conditions at the time she sank quickly giving the crew of three no chance of survival. Today the wreck lies on her port side in 32M and is rarely visited by divers, she is however a pretty and haunting dive for a small group and is largely still intact. Take a look
